Flux pipe pads with improved coupling characteristics
Özet
In this paper, flux pipe pad structure is discussed focusing on the analyzing effects of the number of sub-coils and separation between sub-coils on the coupling performance. Simulations show that the flux pipe pads with three or more sub-coils exhibit higher magnetic coupling coefficient as compared to traditional flux-pipe pads with two sub-coils. In addition to this, measured quality factors of flux pipe pads with more than two sub-coils are larger than traditional two sub-coil flux pip pads. Quality factor improvement can be attributed to larger wire usage. All compared pads have same ferrite volume. Finally, experimental results show that the structure of flux pipe pads allow adjusting the misalignment tolerance of pads by simply changing the separation between sub-coils.
