Abstract
Codes of the painting "Tower of Babel", which has been made in the 16th century by Pieter Bruegel the Elder who is one of the most famous and extraordinary artists of Renaissance, has been examined with the help of Erwin Panofsky's three phased iconological method and semeiological methods. A historical and geographical background research has been made about the artist and City of Babel, and the painting has been examined by the denotation within this context, followed by a connotation analysis.
