dc.description.abstractThe main problem and focus of this chapter are constituted by the foundations of the development of the education concept in the Islamic civilization. In this context, Islam and the tradition of Islamic knowledge, which are the fundamentals and foundations of the classical curriculum theory predominant in the Ottoman Empire, have been analyzed in this chapter. In this respect, the development and institutionalization of the Islamic education concept in line with the Quran and the Prophet Mohammad’s sayings, regarded as the basis of the Islamic education concept, have been reviewed, and in addition to a review of this institutionalization, the contributions of important theoreticians have also been analyzed.en_US
